Choose The Right Woodworking Edge-Banding PUR Adhesives

In the woodworking edge-banding market, it’s common to use polyurethane hot-melt adhesive.

PUR (polyurethane) hot-melt adhesive has good weather resistance and high stability. When it comes to kitchen and bathroom cabinets most need waterproof and heat-resistant bonding, PUR hot-melt adhesive is the best choice.

The purpose of woodworking edge-banding is to look good, block moisture and improve durability.

Laminating with different edge sealing can also provide cabinets various aesthetics. Common materials for edge-banding include PVC, ABS, solid wood, wood trim, acrylic, melamine, wood or wood veneer and other materials. PUR takes moisture curing as the reaction condition, and is also easily affected by ambient temperature and humidity. Once cured, PUR will not re-melt even if reheated, which makes regular cleaning management especially important.
